VP Attends Opening of 81st UN General Assembly Debate in New York

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended the official opening of the General Debate at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) yesterday, representing the Maldives at UN Headquarters.
A press release by the President’s Office noted that World leaders, heads of state, and international representatives gathered at the General Assembly Hall to open the high-level session, which addresses pressing global priorities and strengthens multilateral cooperation.

During his visit to New York for UNGA 81, the Vice President Latheef plans to deliver national interventions at high-level thematic forums, the President’s Office says. He will also engage in bilateral and multilateral discussions with international counterparts and participate in official receptions hosted alongside the assembly.
