Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has terminated the housing agreements for two units at Amaan Towers over unpaid rent, giving the occupants 15 days to vacate and hand over the units.

In a notice published yesterday, FDC said the decision followed 135 days during which the occupants were given opportunities to settle outstanding payments before their agreements were terminated.

The corporation said it had issued two payment default notices and the mandatory 30-day notice of termination. The notices were delivered through the Fahi Portal, SMS, email and written documentation.

According to FDC, the agreements were terminated after the occupants failed to settle the outstanding rent within the stipulated deadlines. Access to their FDC Portal accounts has also been revoked.

FDC said the action was taken in accordance with the terms and procedures set out in the Unit Lease and Ownership Agreement signed before the handover of the 4,000 housing units.

The corporation urged all residents of Amaan Towers to pay their rent and maintenance fees monthly in accordance with their agreements, saying timely payments are necessary to maintain the buildings and sustain the quality of services.
