According to the remand order issued yesterday, the court found sufficient initial evidence to establish reasonable suspicion that the individual committed the alleged offence.

The evidence submitted by authorities included an incident report from the attending police officers and an official occurrence report from Maldives Immigration.

The court order confirmed that the arrest adhered to statutory procedures. It also noted that the suspect made no statement and raised no contest against the allegations during the hearing.

The suspect’s 15-day custodial detention is set to expire on 8 November.
