President Confers Awards for Special Achievement to the Recipients

Today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred the President’s Award to for Special Achievement and the Special Medal for Memorising the Noble Quran, National Award of Honour and National Award of Recognition, and Order of the Dignified Rule of the Dhiyamigili Dynasty (ODRDD).
Solih conferred these awards at an official ceremony held today at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) in commemoration of the Maldives’ 58th anniversary of independence.

This year’s recipients of the awards included 15 individuals who received medals for achieving the highest rank in an academic or skill training course, two honourees were awarded for attaining the highest level in an international exhibition or competition, one individual was recognised for their skill and innovation, and ten individuals were recognised for their outstanding achievement in memorising the Holy Quran while attaining the highest grade.

The recipients of the National Award of Honour were presented with commemorative shields and badges by President Solih, while the National Award of Recognition recipients received commemorative plaques.
The National Awards Committee, established by the President to determine the recipients of these prestigious awards, selected the individuals who were honoured.
The National Award of Honour was conferred upon the following five recipients, and National Award of Recognition was conferred upon the following 18 recipients.
Order of the Dignified Rule of the Dhiyamigili Dynasty (ODRDD)

Solih chose to honour Dr Lutfi with the Order of the Dignified Rule of the Dhiyamigili Dynasty (ODRDD) in recognition of his national contributions to the government over a period of more than 34 years.
Dr Lutfi’s invaluable contributions to the education sector of the Maldives were also acknowledged, including shaping the education system that the Maldives sees today and his numerous efforts to train teachers.
During the ceremony, President Solih acknowledged Dr Lutfi’s significant contributions to the development of the Maldives, particularly his commendable and noteworthy work in improving the educational situation in the islands.
