VP Inaugurates Islamic Centre on Hithadhoo Island

Vice President Faisal Naseem attended the ceremony for the Islamic Centre on Hithadhoo Island, Addu City, yesterday. The project was contracted to FEDO Pvt. Ltd.

During the ceremony, the Vice President emphasised the administration’s commitment to addressing religious issues, especially among young people. He stated that in recent years, the administration has implemented numerous religious awareness programmes, with a particular focus on atolls. 

These programmes include Quran recitation competitions, Ihya forums, religious counselling, and imam training, all of which have been conducted at an unprecedented level.

The Islamic Centre features a prayer hall with a capacity of 1,500 people, a multipurpose hall that can accommodate 450 people, four classrooms, two seminar rooms, an administrative office, and a library. The Vice President visited Addu City to attend the event commemorating the 58th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence.
