Cases of Violence Against Children Decreases for June

Statistics released by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services reveal that the Ministry received and attended to a total of 104 cases of violence against children in the month of June, which included 47 girls and 57 boys.

This is a decrease compared to the month of May, which saw a total of 132 cases, which included 80 girls and 52 boys. 

In June, the most commonly reported form of child abuse was negligence, with 33 cases documented during the month. 

Additionally, there were 25 cases of sexual abuse, 18 cases of physical abuse, 12 cases of witness to domestic violence, 7 cases of emotional abuse, five cases of victim to bullying and harassment, two cases of explotiation, one case of blackmail and one case of others.

In June, the Gender Ministry attended to a total of 228 cases which involved violence against children, family issues, domestic violence… etc.
