On July 9, ECM initially released a list comprising polling station numbers, polling station codes, polling station names, polling areas, and the locations of polling stations for the presidential election. According to the initial list, 78 resorts were identified to serve as polling stations. However, subsequently, two more resorts were added to the list, resulting in a total of 81 resorts now chosen as polling station venues.
The newly included resorts are Fari Campus Maldives and Amari Raaya Maldives.
Nevertheless, it is important to note that the number of resorts with polling stations may be subject to further adjustments based on the number of registrations received during the ECM’s designated registration period.
The criteria for establishing ballot boxes at the resorts are contingent upon a minimum of 30 individuals registering to vote at any specific resort within the timeframe specified by the ECM. As a result, these figures remain subject to change until the conclusion of the re-registration process.
In an effort to accommodate individuals voting from an island other than their own, the ECM has extended the online re-registration deadline until tomorrow, providing opportunity for those in need to participate in the upcoming presidential election.
