Police on the Hunt for “Kurusee”

Law enforcement authorities have initiated a probe to uncover the identity behind the Twitter account under the handle “Hassan Kurusee.”
The account, known for its critical stance towards the government and various individuals, has drawn the attention of the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed. The Speaker has lodged a formal complaint in connection with the account, according to the Maldives Police Services.

In response to the complaint, the Criminal Court has issued an order to assist the police in locating the individual or individuals responsible for operating the Hassan Kurusee account.
The police have stated that they are diligently investigating the ownership of the “Kurusee” account following the official complaint filed with the agency.
The account’s tweets have sparked considerable speculation, with initial conjectures suggesting President Nasheed’s involvement. However, President Nasheed has vehemently refuted these allegations in the past and, instead, opted to report the account to the police, asserting that it has caused him significant distress.
