The crux of the proposed policy lies in the call for a multifaceted approach to drug rehabilitation, capitalising on both local and international expertise. The intention is to enhance the efficacy of rehabilitation programmes by introducing a wider array of treatment methodologies that cater to the unique needs of individuals battling substance abuse.
Central to the policy is the emphasis on the successful reintegration of individuals who have undergone rehabilitation back into society. Recognising the significance of a holistic approach, The Democrats’ proposal encompasses strategies to provide recovering individuals with the necessary support and tools to smoothly transition back into their communities, thereby minimising the risk of relapse.
Expanding the scope of their proposal, The Democrats highlight the necessity of bolstering border control measures to curtail the inflow of drugs into the country. The policy underscores the establishment of relevant authorities responsible for efficiently disposing of seized narcotics, thereby eradicating potential loopholes that contribute to the perpetuation of the drug trade.
