The contract, based on a design and build framework, aims to alleviate housing challenges faced by the city’s populace.
In a significant development, the Director General of the Ministry, Ahmed Vishan Naseem, and the Managing Director of PT Citramas Heavy Industries, Najah Shareef, officially signed the contract.
The project is slated for completion within a span of one year and six months, with a budget allocation of USD 30.4 million from the government’s Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) for the year 2022.
The construction venture encompasses two impressive 11-storey buildings, collectively accommodating 400 modern apartments. Each edifice is set to feature a complement of two elevators, while the ground floor will house commercial spaces alongside maintenance offices.
The apartments themselves will comprise three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a dining area, a laundry section, and a storage facility. In addition to these amenities, the establishment of a vehicle parking zone is envisaged, with each apartment being allocated one parking space.
Fuvahmulah, home to a population exceeding 14,000 individuals and a registered resident count of 12,700, spans an extensive 491-hectare expanse.
