Lands Handed Over to Build Hospitals in Four Islands

Ministry of Health announced that lands for the construction of hospitals in four islands have been officially transferred to contractors. The islands of Thulusdhoo, Milandhoo, Velidhoo, and Funadhoo are set to witness the emergence of new healthcare facilities.

Collaborating with the Kuwait Fund, the government has commenced the development of several hospitals, with the aim of bridging the healthcare gap in remote areas.

Anand Build Tech Pvt Ltd, the recipient of the contract for hospital development, has received the responsibility to construct 30-bed hospitals on Thulusdhoo, Milandhoo, and Velidhoo islands. The timeline for completing these projects is set at one and a half years.

In a collaborative joint venture, Citramus Heavy Industries and Flazinc Pvt Ltd are spearheading the hospital development on Funadhoo island. Having secured the contract in July of the previous year, the venture is stated to be accomplished within one and a half years with a budget exceeding MVR 135 million.
