The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced the suspension of certain projects by state agencies and government-owned companies due to the risk of incurring irrecoverable losses to both the state and its citizens if continued during the transitional period.

In an official press release, the ACC disclosed that it is presently suspending specific activities within state agencies, governmental bodies, and government-owned enterprises. This suspension aligns with ongoing investigations into lodged complaints.

ACC clarified that such actions are being taken as a preventative measure due to allegations contained within the filed cases, which have the potential to inflict irreversible harm on the state and its populace if left unchecked.

Emphasising the provisional nature of these notices, ACC indicated a willingness to revise them after consideration of pertinent factors, while ensuring recipients are promptly informed of any alterations.

Clarifying the scope of the suspension, the ACC underscored that its directives do not impede the provision of essential services to the public or administrative operations by the agencies concerned. ACC further highlighted its dedication to expediting investigations within these cases.

The ACC’s directives have specifically targeted certain activities within government-owned enterprises, while also urging separate actions by government agencies, offices, institutions, and related entities to mitigate instances of corruption.

ACC affirmed its commitment to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the concerned parties and swiftly resolving these matters to uphold the integrity of public services and prevent potential malpractice.
