Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure has revealed that the initial 4,000 beneficiaries under the Gedhoruveriya scheme will be determined according to a point-based system, with the subsequent list made publicly accessible.
The initial phase of the permanent list of flats and land recipients was disclosed by the government in September. The forthcoming announcement of the flat recipients is slated for Sunday.
The guidelines for determining flat recipients were officially published in the gazette on June 26, 2022. These regulations encompass eligibility prerequisites, criteria for earning points, and associated charges.
Under the scheme, the government contracted the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) to construct 4,000 flats. Presently, the construction of six towers is in progress, divided between two ongoing projects managed by separate companies.
FDC is overseeing the development of both two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. The planned distribution comprises 1,200 two-bedroom housing units spread across 650 acres and 2,800 three-bedroom housing units spanning 900 acres.
