MET Office Issues White Alert from Haa Alif atoll to Gaafu Alif atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for the region spanning from Haa Alif Atoll to Gaafu Alif atoll.

This alert is in effect from 08:30 hours to 14:30 hours, today. The forecast warns of heavy rains and thunderstorms within the expected area.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

White alert: Alert Level 1

Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2

Orange warning: Alert Level 3

Red warning: Alert Level 4
