50 Plots of Land Unfairly Given in Hulhumale’ will be Confiscated, Says Fazul

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced its decision to reclaim 50 plots of land that were reportedly allocated unfairly during the tenure of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration.
Managing Director Fazul Rashid made the announcement yesterday, addressing concerns raised by the public regarding land allocation practices in Hulhumale’. His remarks came during an event held at V. Fulidhoo, coinciding with President Mohamed Muizzu’s official visit to the islands.
In his statement, Fazul Rashid highlighted the outcome of HDC’s investigation, revealing that 50 plots of land were found to have been allocated improperly to various companies. He emphasized the corporation’s commitment to upholding transparency and adherence to regulations in land allocation processes.
He further affirmed that the HDC would proceed to reclaim the unlawfully allocated land in accordance with established procedures and regulations governing land management.
