Rice and Flour Distribution Drive Opened to All Maldivian Households Today
As the holy month of Ramadan fast approaches, Male City Council announced yesterday that essential flour and flour supplies are ready to be distributed to all Maldivian households from today onwards.
Excluding Fridays and the first day of Ramadan, the distribution drive will be open in the Greater Male’ area from March 9th to March 16th.

The allocated hours for collection within the Greater Male’ area is set from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and resume from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Additional adjustments have been made for Ramadan, with collection hours scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Collection points include:
- Male’ City Galolhu Stadium,
- Male’ City Council Public Services Section,
- Male’ City Social Centre,
- Vilimale’ Birri Mosque Hall,
- Umar Zahir Building in Phase 1 of Hulhumale’ City,
- and the Youth Centre at Tower 10 in Phase 2 of Hulhumale’.
With allocations being made based on the electricity meter number of each household, only Maldivian citizens are eligible to collect the donated supplies, and identification documents such as ID cards, licenses, or passports must be presented during collection.
The holy month of Ramadan is predicted to begin on 10 March 2024 and end on 9 April 2024, according to Ramadan 1445 in the Islamic calendar.
