Gov’t Establishes Housing Committee to Tackle Housing Scheme Concerns
The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development has announced the formation of the Housing Committee, aimed at addressing issues pertaining to the Binveriyaa and Gedhoruveriyaa housing schemes.
These schemes, initiated under the previous government, are under scrutiny for their efficacy and implementation.
President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu proposed the establishment of the Housing Committee in February 2024 to oversee the progress and development of the Binveriyaa and Gedhoruveriyaa projects.
The committee comprises several notable individuals, including Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzudin Aneesa Ahmed, Aminath Eenaas, Ahmed Ali Manik, Abdul Azeez Yusuf, and Mariyam Fizana Rasheedh. Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzudin Aneesa Ahmed has been appointed as the Chair, with Abdul Azeez Yusuf serving as the Vice Chair. The ministry will supervise the committee’s secretariat.
Following its establishment, the Housing Committee held its inaugural meeting on March 14 to outline its objectives and strategies moving forward.
