President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted the oversight of the previous administration regarding the development of the second phase of Hulhumale, expressing plans for imminent enhancements, including sports facilities.

Speaking on the Q&A Platform “Raeesge Javaabu,” Muizzu acknowledged the absence of several essential services in the area when residents initially moved into the Hiyaa flats.

In response to this gap, the President outlined upcoming initiatives to introduce diverse sports amenities in collaboration with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

“The area represents a significant population hub, and our government is committed to establishing a range of sports facilities in partnership with HDC and other stakeholders,” stated President Muizzu.

He further specified plans to install handball courts catering to women’s sports and diversify the sports infrastructure within the vicinity.

Presently, the area is limited to futsal grounds, prompting the government’s initiative to expand sporting opportunities within the community.
