The Islamic Ministry announced that the timing of Eid prayer will now commence at 07:00 am, bringing it forward by thirty minutes from its previous schedule of 07:30 am.
Explaining the rationale behind this change, the Ministry emphasized that the earlier timing coincided with the increasing heat of the day following sunrise. This adjustment aims to provide convenience, particularly to vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities who participate in these prayers. These gatherings often take place in expansive open fields, making attendees susceptible to overheating.
The Ministry’s statement referenced the practice of Prophet Muhammad, who conducted Eid prayers before the sun’s intensity became too harsh, typically around sunrise.
This alteration in timing reflects a consideration for the well-being and comfort of worshippers, aligning with traditions while addressing practical concerns.
