Saudi Arabia Gifts 55 Tons of Dates to Maldives

The Saudi Arabian government has generously gifted 55 tons of dates to the Maldives, in a gesture reaffirming the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs confirmed the agreement, detailing that Saudi Arabia pledged 50 tons of dates, with an additional five tons presented to the Maldives Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.

The signing ceremony, symbolising the official exchange, took place at the Saudi Embassy in Maldives. Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Islamic Affairs for the Maldives government, and Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Matrek Abdullah Al-Ajalin Aldosari, participated in the ceremony, representing their respective nations.

It’s noteworthy that Saudi Arabia has a tradition of gifting dates to the Maldives government annually during the holy month of Ramadan, underscoring the enduring goodwill and cooperation between the two countries.
