Dhiraagu, a major telecommunications provider in the Maldives, has reaffirmed its support for Care Society’s Vocational Training Programme 2024.

Since its inception in 2018, Care Society’s Vocational Training Unit has been dedicated to nurturing self-sufficiency and empowerment among young adults, particularly those facing disabilities.

This year’s programme places a strong emphasis on equipping students with essential skills such as basic computer literacy, culinary proficiency, and arts and crafts.

Currently, 27 students are enrolled in the programme, working closely with special educators to hone their abilities in these areas.

Dhiraagu’s contribution includes the provision of necessary educational materials.

According to Care Society, past iterations of the Vocational Training Programme have yielded remarkable results, with an impressive 81% progress rate among students.

Notably, participants have exhibited notable enhancements in various facets of personal development, including communication skills, social interactions, and overall independence.

Empowering young individuals and persons with disabilities stands as a cornerstone of Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework.

Care Society is a non-government organization (NGO) founded in November 1998 with a mission to protect the interests and well-being of persons with disabilities in the Maldives, creating a more inclusive society.
