MMPRC to Investigate Allegations of Sexual Harassment at ITB Fair 2024

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is investigating allegations of sexual harassment purported to have occurred at the ITB Fair 2024 in Berlin, Germany.
Rumors circulating on social media suggested that MMPRC’s Deputy Managing Director, Bassam Adam, engaged in inappropriate behavior towards female staff members during the event. It was alleged that Adam sexually harrassed three female staff members, making crude remarks about their bodies and touching them inappropriately.

MMPRC states that no official reports of sexual harrassment have been lodged by any employees, however, the allegations will be investigated accordingly.
In their official statement released last night, MMPRC emphasized their commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment for all employees.
Held at the Berlin Exhibition Center, ITB Berlin 2024 took place from 5-7th March; 214 delegates from 107 tourism companies represented the Maldives at the fair.
