The Aasandha has announced packages targeting individuals above 35 years old and children under 18 years old for medical check-ups and screenings respectively, within government hospitals effective immediately.

According to a statement released today by the scheme, individuals aged 35 and above will now have the opportunity to undergo bi-annual medical check-ups, aligning with the government’s strategic healthcare agenda for the week. Moreover, specialised screenings mandated by the Ministry of Education will be facilitated through government healthcare facilities.

This initiative follows the initial rollout of medical check-ups targeting individuals over 50 years old back in January. Subsequent adjustments to the age brackets and service packages were made in response to operational challenges encountered during the initial phase. Consequently, revisions have been made to the basic packages catering to the 19-year-old age group, with check-ups for this demographic slated to commence in July.

Key features of the package include provisions for early cancer detection tests for individuals aged 40 and above. In addition to cancer screenings, which adhere to prescribed intervals, other medical tests covered under the scheme can be availed once annually. Furthermore, should a doctor recommend scheduled tests, arrangements will be facilitated under the scheme.

The implementation of this enhanced healthcare package underscores the commitment of the Aasandha scheme towards bolstering public health initiatives and ensuring widespread access to essential medical services across the populace.
