STO Reopens Warehouse for Ramadan Staple Goods Collection
The State Trading Organisation (STO) has announced the re-opening of its staple goods warehouse to facilitate the collection of staple food gifted to Maldivians in observance of Ramadan.
STO revealed that the distribution aims to accommodate individuals who were unable to collect their allocated goods from the Male’ City Area at the outset of Ramadan. The initiative follows a decision by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to provide staple goods to Maldivian households in preparation for the holy month.
STO started the distribution of 10 kg of basmati rice and 10kg of flour for all households ahead of Ramadan
In a bid to streamline the collection process, STO has scheduled the warehouse to be open from 10 am to 1 pm, running from the 4th to the 9th of April. Notably, collections can be made on any day except Friday during the specified hours.
STO clarified that the distribution is exclusively for Maldivian citizens. To facilitate the process, recipients are required to provide their household electric meter number and ID card details upon collection.
