President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the creation of opportunities within the sports sector as a significant policy of his administration during an interaction with the public.
Addressing queries on his pledges to develop sports arenas, Muizzu responded to a question from Mohamed Nisham of Lh. Maamendhoo during the ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ series. Nisham sought clarification on the timeline for these pledges to materialise.

Muizzu further elaborated that physical work on sports facilities across various islands is already underway, in line with his campaign promises. He assured the public of continued efforts throughout the year to construct sports arenas and specific courts.
During a gathering at Hulhumale’ Phase II’s Hiyaa area, Muizzu detailed ongoing projects, revealing that 71 out of 84 stalled projects related to stadiums and courts have been resumed under the current administration. Additionally, he disclosed that 48 projects are still in progress, with several nearing completion.
