Gov’t Initiates Fitr Zakat Distribution of Staple Items

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has commenced the distribution of staple items as Fitr Zakat during this Ramadan period.

Under the auspices of the Islamic Ministry, the Zakat House has initiated the distribution process, which is slated to continue until today.

Those eligible to receive Zakat are limited to individuals registered on the city’s roster of impoverished and people in need.

The allocated distribution times for Fitr Zakat are as follows:

• From 11:00 am to 3:30 pm today
• From 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm tonight

Currently, the dispensation of wheat as Fitr Zakat is in progress. Over the initial 20 days of Ramadan, an impressive sum of MVR 4.5 million has been amassed in Zakat contributions.

Since last Saturday, the option to contribute to Fitr Zakat online has also been available. Contributions can be made through Bandeyri Pay until the conclusion of Ramadan.
