Maldivian Pilgrims Return After Completing Hajj

Maldivian pilgrims have commenced their return journey after completing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia for this year.

A total of 1,150 pilgrims from the Maldives participated in this year’s Hajj, organised by the Maldives Hajj Corporation.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs confirmed yesterday that the first group of 296 pilgrims arrived back in the Maldives at approximately 13:50hrs.

The returning pilgrims are scheduled to arrive in four separate batches, with the second group expected on Friday. The subsequent batches are slated to return on July 1st and 4th.

Concurrently, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has issued a warning regarding the potential spread of vector-borne diseases by returning pilgrims.
