This follows an earlier incident at the nearby Hiya Flat Tower 8 in July, when Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) firefighters responded to a call about a kitchen fire on the 19th floor. Emergency crews quickly suppressed the flames before they could spread to the rest of the unit, though the apartment’s kitchen sustained damage.
