Former President Solih’s Mother Passes Away

Moonima Hassanfulhu, the mother of former Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has passed away this morning at the age of 80.

Moonima, survived by five children including Solih, leaves behind a legacy intertwined with public service and family responsibilities.

Her children include former Hulhumale’ MP Ali Niyaz, Aishath Mohamed Solih, Principal of Majeedhiyaa School, Fathimath Solih who served as personal secretary to former Presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom and Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, and two others who are visually impaired. The family has received condolences from various quarters following Moonima’s passing.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu expressed his condolences via Twitter, stating, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on the passing away of his beloved mother.”
