The confirmation of this allocation came with the official signing of the project agreement between the Ministry and the RDC. Representing the Ministry, State Minister Ibrahim Thoaam Mohamed inked the agreement, while Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Nabeeh Afeef did so on behalf of the RDC.

While specific details regarding the agreement, including the project’s value, have not been disclosed to the public, it is noted that the RDC is presently engaged in road development endeavours across 27 islands within the Maldives.

Established by presidential decree in June 2019, the Road Development Corporation (RDC) operates as a state-owned enterprise with a core mandate to advance the construction of roads, facilitate the repair and maintenance of bridges, and oversee the building of highways and causeways within the Maldives.
