The Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), hosted a two-day workshop aimed at establishing national standards for rehabilitative therapy catering to individuals with disabilities.

During the workshop, comprehensive national standards were developed for these therapeutic modalities. Following this initial drafting phase, the ministry intends to solicit input from experts in the field and subsequently validate these standards. Once finalised, training sessions will be organised for practitioners delivering these therapies across the Maldives.

Highlighting the significance of this initiative, the ministry emphasised the pressing demand for standardised rehabilitative therapies tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
