Gov’t Confirms Repatriation of 51 Indian Military Personnel from Maldives

The government announced that a total of 51 Indian military personnel stationed in two areas of the Maldives have been repatriated.

At a press conference held at the President’s Office, yesterday, Chief Spokesperson Heena Waleed addressed queries from journalists, confirming that 51 Indian military personnel from two locations have been repatriated thus far. She further mentioned that the remaining Indian officers will depart by Friday, May 10.

Heena stated, “All Indian military personnel in the country will be withdrawn from the Maldives by May 10. As of now, 51 soldiers stationed at two platforms have been repatriated.”

The first batch of Indian military personnel was withdrawn from the Maldives in early March, followed by the departure of the second batch in April.

Regarding the presence of foreign troops in the Maldives, Heena indicated that this information would be disclosed once all foreign military personnel have left the country.
