Gov’t Designates Land in Hulhumale’ for a Racing and Drifting Arena

The government has earmarked land in Hulhumale’ for the specific purpose of racing and drifting activities.

The agreement, formalised through a signing ceremony, involved Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu and Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed.

Under the terms of the agreement, 50,000 square feet of land will be dedicated to racing and drifting.

Minister Rafiu commended President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for his commitment to bolstering sports infrastructure, noting that the allocation of land for these activities will cater to the interests of the youth and introduce new sporting avenues in the country. He also extended gratitude to HDC for its role in facilitating the provision of land and necessary amenities for the venture.

The initiative aims to address the challenges arising from the limited space available for motorsport activities. The proposed Racing and Drift Sports Arena is expected to provide a safe environment for the conduct of these activities, offering new opportunities for enthusiasts in the community.
