Gov’t Launches Financial Assistance Programme for CSOs
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts has unveiled a new initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for community empowerment projects.
This programme invites CSOs to submit proposals for financial aid, contingent upon their registration under the Associations Act.
The initiative is designed to offer not only financial support but also technical expertise and access to the ministry’s resources. Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed, emphasised that this long-awaited opportunity is part of a broader effort to support small, medium, and large-scale projects through comprehensive regulations.
Proposals must be submitted by 4 July 2024 at 1300hrs via email to csogrant@youth.gov.mv. Submissions should include the organisation’s registration certificate, national identity cards of project leaders, council office documents, and any relevant project-related documents, particularly if the project is part of an island development plan.
The central aim of this initiative is to enhance the role of financial organisations in national development by recognising and supporting their efforts in community empowerment and societal development.
