He added that the target is to raise nearly MVR 100 million by the end of the year, which would be a historic milestone. Minister Shaheem expressed confidence that the Maldives Zakat House will become an institution of national pride.

According to statistics released in July, over MVR 1 million has been disbursed from the Zakat Fund for medical assistance to low-income individuals, with the largest amount allocated for cancer treatment.

The current administration established the Maldives Zakat House to enhance public awareness about the importance of Zakat and to encourage greater engagement with this Islamic practice.
