High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, met with Maldives Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal to discuss initiatives for promoting tourism and strengthening bilateral ties within the sector.

The meeting also covered plans for special activities aimed at boosting tourist arrivals from India. Last year, India was the top source market for the Maldives, with over 200,000 visitors. However, this year has seen a decline, with India currently ranked sixth among the top ten tourism source markets.
The Ministry is working closely with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to bolster tourism promotion efforts.
