The Ministry of Housing has announced relaxed requirements for individuals who were previously deemed eligible for apartments under the Hiyaa or Veshi Fahi housing schemes but did not receive a unit, allowing them to reapply under eased conditions.

In a post on X, the Ministry stated that applicants who no longer possess their original eligibility letter may now submit alternative documentation. Acceptable proof includes any official record or reference issued by a relevant authority confirming their inclusion on a previous list of approved flat recipients.

The Ministry also noted that eligibility details published on official lists or contained in formal correspondence issued at the time will be recognised as valid supporting documents.

Applications under the current administration’s “Emmenah Boahiyaavehikan”, translated as Housing for All, initiative are open until 11:59 p.m. on 17 April.

Under the scheme’s criteria, eligibility is limited to Malé natives and individuals who have resided in the capital for at least 15 years. The project is expected to deliver 7,900 apartment units and 15,000 plots of land, each measuring 1,250 square feet.
