The Hulhumalé Phase 3 land reclamation project has reached 87 per cent completion, with 55 hectares reclaimed so far, according to the latest project update report shared yesterday by the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
MACL last gave updates on the project last Saturday, when they reported that 49 hectares had been reclaimed, representing 77.8 per cent completion of the project. In a week, 6 hectares were reclaimed, according to MACL.
The company said reclamation works are progressing steadily and are being carried out using two dredgers, Prins der Nederlanden and Oranje, each with a capacity of 22,000 cubic metres.
Phase 3 reclamation works commenced on 10 November 2025. The project forms part of broader efforts to expand Hulhumalé and support future housing and infrastructure development in the Greater Malé region.
