The Institute for Counseling and Psychosocial Development (ICP) has officially launched “Let’s Talk”, a new community engagement and personal development initiative aimed at fostering meaningful conversations, encouraging positive thinking, and supporting the development of strong character and life skills within the community.
According to SIMDI Group, the initiative has been designed as an interactive platform where participants can engage in open discussions on a range of social, personal, and professional topics in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Through guided conversations led by professionals from various fields, the programme seeks to provide practical knowledge, fresh perspectives, and greater confidence in addressing everyday challenges.
ICP said it partnered with experts from diverse sectors to facilitate discussions on carefully selected topics, recognising the importance of mental well-being, personal growth, and constructive dialogue. The sessions are intended to promote self-reflection, critical thinking, and positive behavioural change while encouraging lifelong learning.
The initiative will be conducted as a monthly series, with each session focusing on themes related to contemporary social issues, leadership, communication, emotional well-being, and personal development.
Speaking about the programme, ICP Managing Director Shidhatha Shareef said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to creating safe spaces for dialogue, learning, and personal growth.
“Through open conversations and shared experiences, we aim to empower individuals, strengthen community connections and inspire positive change,” she said.
The first session brought together participants from different backgrounds and featured motivational speaker Mariyam Mohamed as the guest speaker. Special educator Aisha Looba and lawyer and former parliamentarian Ali Hussain also contributed to the discussion, sharing their perspectives on personal development, positive thinking, and the role of meaningful conversations in building resilient communities.
ICP said details of future sessions, including topics, dates, and registration information, will be announced through its official communication channels each month. The organisation has invited members of the public to participate in the programme and contribute to discussions aimed at building a more informed, positive, and resilient society.
