The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi has made over 34 fully-funded scholarships available for Maldivian students under five distinct schemes. These scholarships cater to a diverse range of academic and cultural disciplines.

Notably, 100 global slots are dedicated to professional and higher studies in cultural fields such as music, dance, theatre, performing arts, sculpture, Indian languages, and Indian cuisine. Additionally, 29 slots are specifically allocated for SEAR countries under the AYUSH scheme.

To date, 165 Maldivian students have benefited from ICCR scholarships. The eligibility criteria for these scholarships require applicants to be aged between 18 and 35, with a maximum age limit of 45 for PhD candidates. The scholarships cover undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Humanities, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Business Studies, and other fields.

The initial application deadline was 31 May 2024, which has now been extended to 15 June 2024. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications directly through the A2A portal.
