Organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, National Center for the Arts, and Public Service Media, the competition aims to showcase the musical talents of students across the nation. A total of 32 schools will participate, adding to the diversity and vibrancy of the event.
The contest features two main categories: the junior group and the senior group. The junior group comprises participants from the Under-6, Under-9, and Under-11 age brackets, while the senior group consists of contestants aged Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19.
Remarkably, this year’s competition will incorporate a wide range of original compositions, with 71 unique tunes set to be performed. Such inclusion emphasizes the importance of creativity and encourages students to explore their musical abilities.
In the past, the inter-school singing competition enjoyed great popularity, becoming an eagerly anticipated annual event until it ceased eight years ago. During its heyday, the competition fostered healthy rivalry among participating schools, further fueling the excitement surrounding the event.
With the revival of the inter-school singing competition, students and educators alike are thrilled at the prospect of once again celebrating the musical talents within schools nationwide. This highly anticipated event promises to be a testament to the richness and diversity of musical expressions among students, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.
