Kulhudhuffushi City Restored to Full Power Following Technical Resolution
Power has been reinstated across all parts of Kulhudhuffushi City following the successful resolution of technical setbacks at FENAKA’s powerhouse on the island, with assistance from STELCO.
STELCO’s Managing Director, Hussain Fahumy, took to X to announce the restoration of power to all parts of Kulhudhuffushi. He credited this achievement to the collaborative efforts of STELCO’s proficient team alongside the staff of FENAKA.
The disruption in FENAKA’s power output stemmed from the malfunction of three control modules, attributed to a transformer issue.
According to FENAKA, full power restoration to the island was accomplished at 8:10 pm this evening following the effective mitigation of the technical concern.
Notably, several islands have grappled with recent power interruptions, prompting attention to the resilience of energy infrastructure.
Prior to this development, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had highlighted the subpar state of electricity services across multiple islands at the onset of the current administration. He underscored the dire condition of various powerhouses and outlined ongoing governmental initiatives aimed at upgrading outdated power generators across relevant islands.
