Maldives and Turkey Sign MoU on Water and Sewerage Sector Development
The governments of the Maldives and Turkey have formalised an agreement through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on the advancement of the water and sewerage sector in the Maldives.
The MoU seeks to facilitate the exchange of technical expertise between the two nations, with the goal of enhancing the water and sanitation infrastructure in the Maldives. Additionally, the agreement outlines plans for the implementation of training programs aimed at capacity building within the sector. The MoU also envisions joint participation in international conferences related to water and sanitation.
The agreement was signed by the Maldives’ Minister of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy, alongside the Deputy Director General of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration, representing the Turkish government.
This MoU is anticipated to strengthen the collaboration between the Maldives and Turkey, contributing to the development of the water and sewerage sectors in both countries.
