The Maldives has welcomed its first cruise ship of 2026, arriving with close to one thousand passengers and crew members.

Maldives Immigration reported that the MS Crystal Symphony arrived in the country on 12 January. Officers from the Seaport Division provided en-route immigration clearance services for 479 passengers and 491 crew members on board the vessel.

The arrival comes as the Maldives prepares for the peak tourism season, during which an increase in visitor numbers is anticipated through multiple travel channels, including cruise tourism.

Authorities stated that the Maldives has recorded over 93,000 tourist arrivals so far in 2026, reflecting a steady flow of visitors at the start of the year.
