The national airline, Maldivian, has announced plans to launch direct flights between the Maldives and Bangladesh starting from 12 March 2026.

The airline stated that the route is being introduced in response to demand from the large Bangladeshi expatriate workforce residing in the Maldives and is aimed at strengthening air connectivity between the two countries.

The service will operate twice a week on Sundays and Thursdays, with flights scheduled to land in Dhaka early in the morning to allow passengers to conveniently connect with onward flights to other destinations.

Maldivian noted that the resumption of the route coincides with the end of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holidays, providing added convenience for Maldivians travelling abroad during the holiday period as well as for Bangladeshi nationals returning home.

Round-trip fares for the Maldives–Bangladesh service start from USD 399, with passengers entitled to a 30-kilogram checked baggage allowance and complimentary onboard meals. The airline has confirmed that bookings for the flights are now open.

Tickets can be purchased through Maldivian’s official website, mobile application, or by contacting the airline’s call centre on 1671.
