Male’ Residents Offered New Opportunity to Switch Land Allocation to Gulhifalhu

Residents of Male’ who were allocated land from Giraavaru Falhu under the 2023 ‘Binveriya’ housing scheme have been offered a new opportunity to switch to Gulhifalhu.

The current administration, citing space constraints in Giraavaru Falhu, initiated the option to switch land plots from Giraavaru Falhu to Gulhifalhu in April.

According to a statement from the Housing Ministry on April 7, a total of 1,347 plots were earmarked for transfer to Gulhifalhu. These included 193 plots measuring 1,250 square feet, 663 plots measuring 1,650 square feet, 487 plots measuring 2,050 square feet, and four plots measuring 2,450 square feet.

The application period closed on April 18.

In a recent announcement made late on Saturday, the Housing Ministry revealed that following a thorough review of the applications, adjustments have been made to the land use plan. Consequently, the allocation of land has been increased in two categories: 1,250 square feet plots and 1,650 square feet plots.

As a result, applications have reopened for an additional three 1,250 square feet plots and six 1,650 square feet plots.

The deadline for submitting applications is 11:00 pm on May 13. Interested parties are required to submit their requests through the ‘Gedhoruverin’ portal.

It’s worth noting that over 9,000 applicants were originally granted land from Gulhifalhu, Giraavaru Falhu, and Hulhumale’ as part of the ‘Binveriya’ scheme.
