  • Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement.

Details surrounding the reasons for the alleged resignations remain unclear. It is also not yet known whether the reported resignations were voluntary or requested as part of a broader political decision.

The developments come amid a broader wave of resignations and dismissals across government-linked institutions following what has been described as unfavourable electoral outcomes for the administration. These include setbacks in the April 4 national referendum on merging parliamentary and presidential elections, as well as losses in the local council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

The referendum proposal, backed by the government and its candidates, failed to secure approval, a result that has since been followed by a series of leadership changes across key state bodies.

Neither the President’s Office nor the relevant ministries have issued detailed statements explaining the recent ministerial changes at the time of publication, however, several local media report receiving confirmation from the President’s Office.
