Ministry Opens Registration for Online Awareness Sessions on Construction Act

Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development to host online awareness sessions on Construction Act regulations.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has announced online awareness programmes to familiarise the public and construction industry stakeholders with the regulations formulated under the Maldives Construction Act (Law No. 4/2017).

According to the Ministry, the awareness sessions will be conducted in two separate phases throughout the current year to ensure comprehensive outreach across the sector.

Through this initiative, the government aims to build awareness among the general public and construction sector workers regarding the Maldives Construction Act and its regulations.

The sessions hosted by the Ministry will cover key procedures, including building-related permits, drawing approvals, and enforcement actions for regulatory non-compliance.

The Ministry has scheduled the second phase of this year’s programme to run from October 11th 2026, to October 15th 2026, with applications now open for interested participants.

The Ministry noted that registration is now open for interested participants, who must submit their applications via the designated online form at least one day before their chosen session.
