Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), accompanied by nine industry partners, recently showcased the Maldives at the esteemed travel and tourism exhibition, WTM Latin America (WTM LATAM) 2024. 

The event, which took place from April 15 to 17 in São Paulo, Brazil, serves as a pivotal B2B platform for the tourism sector in Latin America, attracting leading experts and professionals.

Participation in WTM LATAM underscores MMPRC’s strategic focus on promoting the Maldives as the ultimate holiday destination and sustaining brand presence in the Latin American market. The event provided valuable avenues to cultivate relationships with prominent tour operators and disseminate up-to-date information regarding the destination and its tourism offerings.

The Maldives pavilion at WTM LATAM featured captivating visuals and interactive activities, including destination videos and a picturesque photo backdrop, allowing visitors to capture memorable moments. Attendees seized the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Maldivian tourism sector, gaining insights to facilitate their travel plans.

Furthermore, a speed networking session facilitated meaningful connections between exhibitors and members of the media, fostering collaboration and amplifying the Maldives’ visibility within the Latin American market.

Latin American interest in the Maldives has seen a notable upsurge, with a recorded visitation of over 2,762 tourists from the region as of February 2024. MMPRC remains steadfast in its commitment to sustaining this momentum through a spectrum of marketing initiatives, including media and influencer familiarization trips, alongside targeted digital and social media campaigns. 

These endeavours are geared towards cementing the Maldives’ stature as the quintessential vacation destination for Latin American travellers.
