MPL Announces Leasing of Parking Slots in Industrial Zone
Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced that it will begin leasing parking slots in the Male’ industrial zone due to popular demand.
Currently managing the industrial one, MPL will start leasing the slots from 15 August on a first-come, first-served basis. The total number of available slots has not been specified.
MPL has also revealed plans to further develop the area and enhance security arrangements for the parking slots.
The parking fees for various types of vehicles are as follows:
Pick-up trucks and lorries registered at Commercial Harbour: MVR 2,000
Bowsers: MVR 4,000
Cranes: MVR 6,000
Other vehicles: MVR 4,000
Interested individuals are required to apply in writing, submitting documents such as the vehicle registry, insurance, roadworthiness certificate, and, for fuel or gas carriers, a permit issued by the Defence Ministry. Copies of identification documents, such as ID cards or company registry, of owners or operators must also be provided.
Currently, a large number of vehicles are already parked in the Industrial Zone, an area previously managed by the Male’ City Council.
